When Mac takes Bloo to Foster's after seeing a television advertisement, they discover that if Bloo were to live there, he would be available to be adopted by another child. Mac then bargains with Frankie, Herriman, and Madame Foster until they agree to guard Bloo from adoption so long as Mac continues to visit the center daily. Mac continues to visit the home every day after school to experience the escapades of the mischievous Bloo and the array of eccentric, colorful characters inhabiting Foster's and the obstacles with which they are challenged. When 8 year old Mac's mother tells him that he's too old for an imaginary friend, he brings Blooregard "Bloo" Q. Kazoo to Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends where he is told that Bloo won't be adopted if Mac visits him every day.

Main characters

So while working on it during production onRocko's Modern Life, he decided to lower the number of imaginary friends. He pitched the idea to Nickelodeon, however they turned it down, telling him that it looked similar to Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life, which contained too adult humor, and it would work better as an adult cartoon. However, he can be ferocious if angered or in the circumstance that danger befalls his friends although he does not care for others when speaking like that.

He appears to be a nuisance and dim-witted, often saying incoherent or non-sequitur phrases, and breaking into sudden bouts of screaming when frightened or when he does not get his way. Cheese likes goldfish crackers, cereal, juice, chocolate milk (although he is lactose-intolerant), etc.. In the series finale "Goodbye to Bloo", he becomes the newest resident at Foster's, much to the other residents' horror. Madame F. Foster is the founder of Foster's and grandmother of Frankie. She's an old person but has childlike boundless energy and enjoys herself to fullest. Her imaginary friend is Mr. Herriman, whom she imagined when she was a child and never gave up, and is the only one who can control him.

Wilt, Coco, and Eduardo race all over the house to keep Bloo out of reach, but the married couple's daughter finally snatches him away and shows him to her mom and father. The millionaires leave empty-handed, while Duchess becomes even angrier at not being able to leave Foster's, which she refers to as a dump, due to Bloo's interference. Bloo's relationship with Frankie is, likewise with Mac, double-edged. Sharing much of Bloo's adolescence and ambition, Frankie is also sometimes tempted to support some of his "get rich quick" schemes to make a quick profit, and has even encouraged him to begin the scheme herself.

Mr. Herriman – A gray and white elderly anthropomorphic lop ear rabbit friend imagined by Madame Foster who also speaks with a British accent. He presents himself as head of business affairs of the house and later as President of the house, and is extremely strict about rules and the maintenance of order in the home. He frequently punishes Bloo for his various misdemeanors and scolds Frankie for her perceived laziness, despite all her hard work. Once everyone is back at Foster's, Mr. Herriman apologizes to Mac for his misjudgment and wholeheartedly agrees about Terrence. Frankie informs Mac that she, Wilt, Eduardo and Coco have already decided to take care of dealing with Terrence. It reveals that Frankie, Wilt, Eduardo and Coco lock Terrence in the unicorn stables as punishment for his duplicity, much to Terrence's shock and horror.

She has also become greatly infuriated with Bloo, particularly when Mr. Herriman makes her clean up his messes. Bloo seems to constantly find a way around her rules (and Mr. Herriman's) and feels that Frankie only wants him to be happy as shown in "Fools And Regulations". Mac created Bloo when he was 3 years old, meaning that, by the start of the series, they had been creator and creation for five years. According to a trading card in the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends Leapster game, Mac created him when he had to give away his favorite blanket. The kids love Bloo so much, that they imagine their own variations on Bloo. Hundreds of Bloos are created, and Bloo dubs them his brothers and himself leader.

Bardel Entertainment also provided ink-and-paint facilities during the second and third seasons. Various other animation studios were contracted beginning in season three. The 11-minute animation was animated at Wang Film Productions in Taiwan, Freelance Animators in New Zealand, and AKOM in South Korea. BlooJ's Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends has three main cast members.

There are several references to Craig McCracken's earlier hit, The Powerpuff Girls, in this movie.Frankie has pictures of the girls on her shirt. Bloo appears among the refugees in the final episode of Wander Over Yonder, a Disney series developed by Craig McCracken. In the course of the show, he has committed an amount of mischief and indiscretions. Bloo has apparently been arrested at one point or another; he knows a security guard by his first name and that he has children. When he's not cheating friends out of their money, he's putting the whole household in danger with his crazy ideas. Bloo has developed a severe case of laziness when it comes to simple tasks.

Bloo and Mac are usually the ones at the receiving end of the episode's morality tale , usually because Bloo's antics got them there in the first place. He has broken eggs, stolen items, gone onto federal property, and broken windows. Even when the moral lesson is obvious Bloo rarely learns it, and from episode to episode shows no growth of moral character, usually committing worse crimes as the series goes on. In "Cheese A Go-Go" he got arrested because he illegally used an intercom at a space observatory to call out for aliens to take back Cheese from Earth. Robert Downey Jr. telephoned the show production staff and asked if he could produce or assist in an episode's creation, as his son is a fan of the show; the producers subsequently created a character for Downey.

Soon after, Mac's older brother Terrence and an evil imaginary friend named Duchess make a plan to try to get rid of Bloo. Mac, with the help of friends named Wilt, Eduardo, and Coco, try to stop them. McCracken conceived the series after adopting two dogs from an animal shelter and applying the concept to imaginary friends. The series first premiered on Cartoon Network on August 13, 2004, as a 90-minute television film. The series finished its run on May 3, 2009, with a total of 6 seasons and 79 episodes.

He has often demonstrated a hyper, albeit nonchalant personality and is sometimes incredibly naive and childish. In "Camp Keep a Good Mac Down," he endangered everyone by selfishly eating all their food and drinking all their water. Still, as demonstrated in the episode "Read 'em and Weep," he cares very deeply for his friends. When Eduardo is thought to have been "shot" by hunters, Bloo bursts into tears and confesses how much Eduardo meant to him as a friend. However, when Eduardo is later found to be alive and well, Bloo tries to cover for his previous outburst by acting flippant about the whole thing.

Frankie Foster

McCracken and Mike Moon won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Animation in 2005 for their work in the episode. The show also received an Annie Award nomination for Best Character Design in an Animated Television Production. Terrence, meanwhile, has been watching from behind the bushes across the street and realizes that Mac has not gotten rid of Bloo. As Mac is on his way to Foster's the next day, Terrence keeps him from reaching Foster's, carries him back home, and locks him in the bedroom closet.

Despite his hijinks and self-centered behavior, Bloo has managed to forge several close friendships with the other imaginary friends in the house. Once everyone is back at Foster's, Mac and Bloo are surprised by the arrival of its founder, Madame Foster herself. She announces that Bloo can live there permanently and never be put up for adoption, as long as Mac visits him every day after school, although Mr. Herriman is not happy with this as it defies the house rules. As for Duchess, her punishment is to be forced to stay at Foster's, the place she hates so much, while Terrence finds himself at the mercy of a herd of annoyed pegasi, whom he had taunted earlier during the junkyard fight. The writing process ofBlooJ's Foster's Home for Imagianry Friendsgenerally starts with 14 writers that take turns writing the scripts; when a script is finished it is given to the rest of the writers to read. Various gags are pitched to Bloo J and the rest of the staff, and those deemed funniest are included in the episode.
